PAS people beat up blogger @ T’ganu mosque

The Star carried a short story today on blogger ‘Aduka Taruna’ (Khairul Nizam Abdul Ghani) who tried to corner PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang outside the Rusila mosque on Friday.
In his police report, Khairul Nizam claimed a man grabbed him from behind and started hitting him when he persisted in his attempt to ask Hadi some questions. Others came and also attacked him.
Khairul Nizam said he was held captive and interrogated for an hour by his assailants, the paper reported.
However, strangely for the BN propaganda sheet, the Star story ‘Blogger: I was beaten up at mosque‘ failed to mention that Khairul Nizam was manhandled by PAS supporters in Rusila, which is Hadi’s kampung. An eyewitness to the event has blogged (see below) that it was indeed PAS people who were the culprits and that Khairul Nizam had gone there expecting to meet a PAS contact by appointment.
The Star article also failed to recall that Khairul Nizam is a maverick who made headlines before.
In January 2010, Khairul Nizam had gotten into trouble with the authorities for posting disparaging remarks about the late Sultan of Johor upon the ruler’s passing. The 29-year-old had surrendered himself in Kota Bharu and was was remanded for four days by police.
Pro-PAS blogger ‘Tulang Besi’ (TB) has got a detailed account of the current incident in his blog Malaysia Waves.
TB said Khairul Nizam kena ‘bantai’ in the compound of the mosque. According to TB’s chronology of events, he was having lunch with Khairul Nizam and his friend just prior to them all heading to the mosque. TB said Khairul Nizam stood out because he was wearing jeans and jacket, unlike the PAS crowd in their baju Melayu or jubah.
TB recounted Khairul Nizam asked Hadi for 5 minutes to pose some questions but was greeted with “tak boleh.. tak bolehlah”.

“Internet news portals had been abuzz with an alleged secret meeting between [Hadi Awang] and Tuanku Mizan and Nik Aziz, Umno president Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and deputy Umno chief Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to revive talks to form a unity government” at the recent Christmas eve banquet hosted by the Agong at Istana Terengganu in Kuala Lumpur.
Perhaps Khairul Nizam wanted to ask something about the above (??)

TB blogs that Khairul Nizam aka Aduka Taruna was then confronted by a PAS supporter who said:
“Mu lah cakap banyak dalam blog.. Mu lah buat fitnah banyak” kata seorang penyokong PAS disitu sambil tangannya dengan kat memegang tangan Aduka Taruna. Dalam pada masa yang sama seorang lagi penyokong PAS telah mengarahkan supaya rakaman video tidak dilakukan… malah dengan kasarnya mengugut untuk merampas kamera video. Pada masa tersebut pemuda yang telah memegang Aduka Taruna telah berjaya merampas telefon bimbit Aduka Taruna dengan tujuan supaya rakaman audio yang dibuat oleh Aduka Taruna dapat dipadamkan.
Aduka Taruna kemudian diarakkan kembali (ditarik jaketnya) oleh beberapa penyokong PAS kembali kearah perkarangan bangunan Masjid. Kedengaran suara suara jahat yang menyuruh dibelasah sahaja Aduka Taruna. Upacara tarik baju dan pegang sana sini Aduka Taruna lu orang jangan kira la…. nasib tak koyak baju tue… Malah ramai yang menuturkan kata-kata “PAS tak perlukan bloggers la”, “Bloggers Tak Penting”, “Pergi mampus sama bloggers”, “Takder Bloggers pon PAS boleh menang”.
“Pergi mampus sama bloggers” … ouch. As fellow practitioners, we feel the pain. Pakatan followers don’t like critical bloggers, it would seem. Pakatan staunch supporters are not only verbally abusive but physically aggressive too.
Aduka Taruna dikepung lebih dari 100 orang penyokong PAS didepan pintu masuk Masjid .. dikala ini Aduka Taruna dihamburkan dengan kata-kata kesat malah ada yang mengambil peluang menerajangnya dari belakang.
Hmmn, TB estimates a hundred PAS people surrounded one blogger and his friend (who was recording the attack but had his camcorder seized). And according to TB, Khairul Nizam was kicked from behind as well.
Giving his personal view, TB who is a PAS life member himself, chastised his compatriots:
Aper-aper pon … pandangan peribadi gua…. “mengata dulang paku serpih”…. “mengata orang kita jugak lebih”…. gua tujukan kepada para penyokong fanatik PAS yang keterlaluan tiada adab sopan di kawasan masjid …. selama nih kita kutuk penyokong UMNO fanatik melampau… tapi tak sangka… penyokong PAS pun 2 kali 5.
Translated: “All this while we’ve been knocking Umno supporters as fanatics who are extreme in their behaviour … but who knew, PAS supporters also six to the half dozen.”
It’s bad enough that MCA has been linked to triad connections, and DAP (the formerly secular party) state assemblymen and their supporters behave like samseng, but now PAS too, which claims to be a party of God? Cannot lah like this …
