Selalunya buat maksiat, pergi disko… couple, couple, bersunyi-sunyian, ini adalah tradisi bagi masyarakat yang beragama Kristian bukan agama Islam…

UPDATE on Valentine Haram in FMT: Ustazah: Don’t emulate ‘sinful’ Christians

PAS will crack down on Valentine’s Day in the Pakatan states. This trivia news made international headlines yesterday.

The initiative by PAS shows who’s boss in Pakatan.

But first, a quick detour to the sex scandal of Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi.

[Karima] El Mahroug described Berlusconi as a benefactor who, because he took pity on her, gave her an envelope filled with €7,000 (RM29,200) after she attended a chaste dinner at his mansion last Valentine’s Day … — TIME magazine

Details of Karima aka Ruby story are a tad complicated but the Time article (click above) gives a succinct coverage.

PAS might be interested to learn that

When Karima was 12, her father spilled a pan of boiling oil on her after she told him she had converted from Islam to Catholicism.

PAS might also be interested to learn that in Italy, the age of consent for sexual relations is 14. But then again in the theocratic state of Iran, girls can be married off at age 9.

The ‘crime’ therefore is not whether the 74-year-old Berlusconi had sex with a 16 year old. The offence is to pay for sex (i.e. prostitution) with teenagers under 18. Berlusconi has responded by saying that the allegations are ‘disgusting and shameful’.
.

[As a matter of Hartal-ish interest, the Italian PM is a billionaire media mogul who exploits the sex factor on his TV stations and shows. So perhaps if he's to be brought down by his own the red-hot Ruby episode, the comeuppance is only poetic justice. See related article, How Silvio Berlusconi Uses Women on TV.]
.

Grist for the PAS mill

.

In parallel, the attitude of local political parties, media and voting public on similar morality issues bears a little introspection.
.
The Land of Ferrari is known for Italian studs and although a Catholic country, public attitude towards politicians and their sex lives is fairly lax. For example, an ex-porn star Ilona Staller was elected to the Italian parliament in 1987. Another porn star in current Italian politics is Milly D’Abbraccio.
.
The 29,200-ringgit question: Are the non-Muslims (in particular the Malaysian Chinese electorate) closer in mindset to PAS or to those more open-minded Italians?
.
At leadership level at least, DAP has morphed into PAS — think Tenang and how DAP promoted the religious conservatism of Normala Sudirman.
.
Let’s take this Star story today ‘Don’t play moral police, SIS tells PAS‘, and an alarming piece of info that emerged from the article:
The [PAS anti-Valentine's Day] movement is also working closely with the Islamic Religious Department in Penang to monitor sinful activities.
In the Pakatan state that mimics the Caliphate of Umar Lim, Penangites will apparently be subjected to a Valentine’s Day crackdown. Their keenness in stone-throwing gives the impression that pious PAS, PKR and DAP are sinless. Hence their cocky confidence in slagging Chua Soi Lek.

I’d say they should proceed and pray that they manage to get let’s say, a Syariah judge (Syariah judge charged with khalwat).

The rise of Silvio Berlusconi to premiership makes Malaysian politicians appear almost worthy of their seat.

This si the comment I wrote in the brilliant US_based Jihad Watch: Yeah, I’m a Malaysian, and I know how SEX-OBSESSED these Muslim fanatic perverts are! Who regard having four wives (not counting the easily divorced wives who’re treated fundamentally as sexual playthings or breeders) as “moral and dignified” to the women! Can one imagine – a neighbour or anyone can simply report on the phone of a Muslim in her/his house supposedly doing whatever, without having to provide any proof besides, and the house will be invaded by these Muslim perverts through their religious ‘police’! How crazy is that! This Islamic party PAS, which cunningly joins in the Opposition People’s Alliance Party (PR) as headed by the ‘moderate’ but very anti-Jew Anwar Ibrahim (he’s a Muslim Brotherhood agent I much suspect – he’s champion by the usual idiots from the Western left), was able to deceive the frustrated non-Muslims to vote for them in the last election – and here’s what they get! But many non-Muslims in Malaysia don’t care if such Islamic power is ruling because they think the savage and primitive Islamic sharia law like in the article here, don’t touch them – only ‘deviant’ Muslims! Thus why we have non-Muslim leaders especially, whether from the ruling or opposition parties, who are willing to submit like SLAVES to Islam because they regard themselves as are untouchable by such Islamic laws – maybe right now because it’s not complete yet like in Saudi, but anyway where’s their concern for the oppressed ‘deviant’ Muslims who want to be free?!

For states without a Sultan, eg Penang and Malacca, are Islamic religious matters under state or federal purview?

People esp. those who believe in the existence of god say when boy meets girl, it’s god’s will. When they get in love, it’s god’s will. A child is god’s gift to a couple…Isn’t interfering with all these considered as interfering with god’s will?

Today, Malaysia made the headlines again in the international scene. I view this with growing concern as intolerance escalates within our shores. Let me try to put perspective into this whole issue.

Firstly, to reject any religious view (whether Islam or other religions), or any other worldview, equates that one prefers another view of reality. We always make judgements about almost everything, in contrary with our views. Nobody in this world may dictate, “I don’t know if my views are right but I certainly know that you are wrong.” This is because we believe that other person’s view is wrong and ours is ultimately correct.

Secondly, no one can claim to provide an end on the explanation of the nature of reality. However, not knowing everything about reality should not be used as an excuse to believe anything we want to. No views in this world provide any comprehensive answer. All of us harbor some biases believing in what we do, but that is not a valid reason to believe it’s truth claims.

Thirdly and most important of all, all beliefs are not equal. Tensions between differing religious views have existed since the dawn of time. But here the need to exercise tolerance towards others’ beliefs does not mean that one has to champion the illogical idea that all views are equally true. Every religion, like all belief systems, are exclusive in the manner that it asserts its claims are true. There is nothing wrong in believing with what is true and false.

We should understand by now that real differences exist between all Malaysians (and the rest of the world) that tolerance is necessary and also a virtue. The definition on tolerance that we belief in is ‘being tolerance of all views’. To me, real tolerance is equated with ‘putting up with errors’. We should also come to terms that all beliefs are not made to be equal.

My fellow Malaysians, it is your call now.

    Do NOT celebrate Valentine’s Day.
You have been duped by the West,
    And so you’re under arrest..
    Praise Allah, submit and obey!”
