Why the third force is now necessary

By Hartal MSM

Below is Part 2, a continuation of our earlier posting ‘DAP people becoming just like Umno‘.

PR supporters are Umno-ish when attacking their critics, even those in civil society.

Aren’t the personal putdowns of Helen Ang as “menopausal” and “smelly” under her skirt reminiscent of Umno’s Bung Mokhtar? He had mocked DAP’s Fong Po Kuan for her monthly ‘bocor’.

Another comment: “I wonder if she [Helen] thinks she is smart why cant she even find a husband?” is exactly what Umno people said of Teresa Kok.

DAP and Umno have become mirror images of one another. DAP is turning into the enemy they so loathe.

Only because of her critique of the DAP Islamization drive, Helen is now denounced by the PR crowd as a “whore”, “bitch”, “[writing] garbage”, “half baked”, “moronic”, “bigot”, “Islamophobe” , and even her Anglicized name is picked on, her looks — “apong face” and her job — “some good for nothing NGO activities”.

PR like to portray themselves as the forces of good and BN as the dark side. PR are the angels, Umno the devils and Perkasa hooligans, goes the legend. However, with only the little power that they have tasted so far, look what PR have already become.

Comments by PR followers in response to Helen’s article (See Part 1) are no different from Perkasa’s.

The reader calling himself Rolls-Royce told off Helen Ang “you have already written a long stupid piece here [in her Malaysiakini column], there is no need for you to take part in the debate here [in the Comments section] anymore”. [Helen had put in altogether only 3 comments.]

Rolls-Royce, who himself put in a total of 22 comments at last count, says he paid the Malaysiakini subscription and thus has the right to comment as he pleases. Quite the profile of the Ugly Malaysian.

Is it any wonder she likens the DAP supporters to “brownshirts” (a Nazi imagery)? They want to punch her while gagging her mouth (denying her the right of reply) and tying her hands behind her back.

Perkasa Youth chief [Mr Tall Songkok] made the following accusation against Helen:

“According to my sources, she is Raja Petra’s protégé and sponsored by him as well. The sources also told me that she was moulded and planted by Raja Petra,” he said. Although he said he did not have evidence to that effect against Ang, he nevertheless reaffirmed that she was part of Raja Petra’s funded movement.”

Similarly, the PR crowd claims Helen is an Umno stooge without being able to furnish any proof. They think that if they keep repeating a lie, it will be eventually accepted as truth ala Stalinist propaganda.

  • Ah Hoe Who has Helen sold her soul to?
  • Myrights I am now convinced that Helen has an ulterior motive, probably paid by UMNO/BN to weaken the opposition among the internet readers.
  • Anonymous Since she was held by ISA, she didnt stop bashing DAP. She is indded swallowing UMNO’s shite.
  • Ah Hoe She must tell us the truth, why she has added Christians to the DAP and Islam for her bashing exercises. Who have you sold your soul to, Helen Ang?
  • Ah Hoe When you read her rubbish about “MCA and Gerakan have never bent over backwards [to Umno] to the extent DAP has done with its Islamist posturing to woo the PAS constituency” you wonder who she is working for.
  • Ah Hoe We must investigate who is behind Helen Ang’s vile spin.
  • anonymous She has a MOTIVE behind her writings. She may be hired to do the job, only she knows.
  • anonymous… and we must not forget, writers that pro MCA/Gerakan/BN and bash Pakatan will have a piece of cake too.
  • Johan A For all your recent articles smearing the good name of the opposition, you probably have half a “datuk” title in your pocket already.

The litany of allegations (accusations which they cannot substantiate) by PR people going by pseudonyms or ‘Anonymous’ is only wild speculation about the author that fails to refute Helen’s article.

Even Lim Kit Siang’s blog published KTemoc’s letter which drew some of the same type of innuendos against Helen. But the LKS blog failed to publish Helen’s rebuttal to the blogger (Malaysiakini carried both, however LKS only picked up KTemoc’s).

If DAP react to criticism or challenge to their ideas and publicity campaigns so adversely, what happens when you begin to question the way they do things in the states they control?

After power getting to their head, DAP’s political culture has become no different from Umno.

It is for this reason that the Hartal MSM team are endorsing the emergence of a third force. If the MSM is staunchly pro-BN and some alternative media pro-PR, then we shall try our level best to give our readers the third side of the story.

  1. i am fully for the 3rd force, i have been staunchly voting for dap for a number of elections, this time, i will vote differently. This so callled pkr party is becoming obnotious. voting pkr will be no different as voting bn.

  2. vasantha says:

I agree with Haris that there should be stringent vetting of the candidates for the 3rd force. The public spat between DAP leaders in Perak show that racism is a very real thing in Malaysia. We must come out of it. Racial identification and pride is acceptable but not to the extent of losing oneself in it. Solidarity is a farce in our country.
The one obvious difference between UMNO and the opposition is that UMNO is open about it, while the opposition tries unsuccessfully to be 1Malaysia. Anything that is not genuine has a short life-span! It is a victory for UMNO every time someone says, “Ya lah! all this because Kula is an Indian. The third force must get its act together.

  3. Maz says:

Helen makes some valid points but “Brownshirts” is a bit over the top

-incompetent and ass-kissers among them indeed, but there are some DAP people (just as there are some UMNO people) that are decent enough….it’s the leadership for the most part (Tunku Aziz you really do need to find a new party, are you listening la ?) that sucks….

as for the comments about Helen and Teresa, they have always been crude and boorish and unbecoming…(meaning faux male barvado for the most part).

  4. Maz says:

    BARVADO ? BRAVADO….!

  5. FenceSitter says:

Look like the 3rd Force will be formed by political frogs, rejects, disgruntled, losers…?

  6. Maz says:

I hope to say this as frequently as possible. Malaysians should put aside their
natural distaste for Indonesia, and consider some reasonably good models for
how Malaysian politics should go forward. Pay attention please.

    1. UMNO SHOULD BE MORE LIKE GOLKAR WHICH IS A MUCH IMPROVED PARTY POST-SUHARTO

    2. DAP SHOULD BE MORE LIKE PDI-P (SANS MEGAWATI WHO WAS NEVER MUCH USE)

    3. PAS SHOULD BE VERY VERY MUCH LIKE NU (NAHDLATUL ULAMA) EVEN THOUGH
‘TOK GURU’ COULD NEVER COME CLOSE TO BEING LIKE THE LATE
ABDURRAHMAN WAHID (GUS DUR) IN RELIGIOUS TOLERANCE AND ECUMENISM.
IN THIS CASE UMNO SHOULD BE MORE LIKE NU…….JUST AS UNLIKELY BUT A NOBLE GOAL.

    IN ADDITION:

PKR SHOULD DISBAND AS IT IS AN ANOMALOUS ARTIFICIAL CONSTRUCT
AND NURUL IZZAH SHOULD RUN FOR PM AS AN INDEPEDENT (NO PARTY
AFFILIATION AT ALL) WITH TUNKU ABDUL AZIZ AS HER VP-DSAI SHOULD RETIRE
FROM POLITICS AND TAKE CARE OF WAN AZIZAH IN HER ADVANCING YEARS.

HELEN ANG SHOULD CONTINUE TO TEST THE SYSTEM AND WRITE ACERBIC
MATERIAL, OFTEN RIGHT (SOMETIMES NOT), BUT CHALLENGING NONETHELESS
AND ZAID IBRAHIM SHOULD JOIN ME AT WEIGHT WATCHERS ANONYMOUS.
