Living In A Washing Machine

by Eyes Wide Open

With all the propaganda spin that’s going on in this country, it sure can get tiresome and sooooooo….confusing! So much so that it often feels like Malaysia is just a giant washing machine, going round and round and round while the noise beats our ears mercilessly.

However, we at HartalMSM have made it our mission to counter the spin and hopefeully, bring some semblance of sanity to the endless misinformation, half-truths and downright lies being peddled by the media in Malaysia these days.

From the way the component parties and their media whores have put the spin machine into “spin high”, it is clear that the Sarawak polls have severely rattled the BN!

Take for example the following 2 MCA comments on the Sarawak elections, reported in the Malaysian Insider:

DAP stoked racial sentiment in Sarawak win, says MCA

KUALA LUMPUR, April 20 — The MCA accused the DAP today of inciting racial sentiment among the Chinese to secure its historic victory in the recent Sarawak state election.

MCA deputy publicity chief Loh Seng Kok said the DAP’s win in the country’s largest state would harm the Chinese community there in the long run.

“The actions of DAP in implementing their policy of preventing Barisan Nasional (BN) from winning seats in the Sarawak state elections by calling themselves a multi-racial party is false, as their party’s struggle has always been tilted along racial lines,” said Loh in a statement today.

“By stirring up the emotions of Chinese voters and creating confusion among them so that DAP can garner more votes for themselves, it is obvious that DAP and its compatriots cannot provide substantial contributions to the local Chinese community there,” the MCA central committee member added.

However, the very next day, we find the MCA saying the complete opposite!

PETALING JAYA, April 21 — Only urban Chinese voters swung strongly to the DAP in the recent Sarawak state polls, shattering Utusan Malaysia’s view that the community voted along racial lines, MCA deputy president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said today.

He said the Sarawak election results showed that urban voters — who happened to be mostly Chinese — had different needs from rural voters that Barisan Nasional (BN) was slow to fulfil.

“Utusan cannot generalise the whole thing. It has nothing to do with race. It has more to do with the urban needs and the rural needs,” Liow (picture) told reporters but did not explain the different needs.

He said it would be unfair to “penalise” voters along racial lines, adding that the Umno-owned newspaper should stop playing up race issues that could further divide the communities. Umno and MCA are senior partners in BN together with the MIC.

Does the MCA really think that nobody will notice their complete lack of a coherent stand in making such statements? Why is the MCA slapping its own face?

It all boils down to the fact that the MCA (and by extension the UMNO/BN nexus), have absolutely no principles. They say whatever they think will win them brownie points, and they can utter these words with absolutely ZERO conviction. In other words, they have no qualms about telling the most outrageous lies to your face so that they can continue their own agenda, and they won’t even bat an eyelid. That is the moral corruption among our political leaders today. They have no principles at all. The only thing they know how to do is to try to lie and cheat their way into people’s hearts, so that they can continue to pillage and plunder the country.

But the most amazing thing is that these political clown shows don’t have to give half a damn about what they had said the day before. Because of course, Malaysians have the memory and intelligence of a goldfish and will happily swallow all the media’s political shite hook, line and sinker!

It seems like they assume Malaysians are so used to swallowing lies, they won’t be able to identify the truth anymore, even if it rose from the dead and slapped them across the face with a worm-rotten hand.

It does get tiresome living with the endless spin every day. Let’s hope Malaysians have more brains than they give us credit for.

Yes, you’re right EWO. It could also be a personal hit against Chua Soi Lek – whom I understand is Liow Tiong Lai’s archenemy.
